Meditation Cafe: Overwhelm & The Universal Nervous System

There’s a lot of conflict going on in the world right now. A lot of sadness, a lot of grief, a lot of dis-belief that some Human Beings are still intent on perpetuating division between peoples, places and races.

We are all breathing the same air, we are all connected through Consciousness. Even if you don’t watch the TV and attempt to cut yourself off from seeing the violence occurring in this world right now, you will still feel the effects of unrest through the Universal Nervous System.

How can we navigate these times without turning a blind eye because it’s too painful or without falling into the depths of despair at what is playing out?

If you have any open centres in your Human Design, especially if you have 4 or more undefined centres, or if you have no idea about your Human Design but identify as Empathic you are most definitely going to notice the effects of what is happening “on the outside”.

You may notice your own repressed grief being pushed to the surface at this time, as the Universal Nervous System becomes full and literally squeezes it out of you. There is a wonderful opportunity here to feel grief, face it, welcome it consciously, to let your tears flow, let it go, acknowledge that what happened in the past (your personal grief) and what is happening now (the current global conflict) is shite!

AND, then come back to focusing on how you personally can support Peace in the world right now. See poem Ebb & Flow when you need a gentle reminder.

Please make it a priority to learn to meet your feelings with the Love and care within your own Heart and with Conscious Awareness. If you’re a blubbering mess for a couple of days and you have no idea why, as your own life is ok right now, you may be helping the Universal Nervous System to let off steam.

It can be helpful to ask yourself, “Is this feeling mine?”.

If you’re experiencing feelings of grief from situations you thought you already grieved, try not to fall into the, “I thought I was done with this” mind trap. You’re likely done with it and it’s simply the Universal Nervous System finding a channel to let off some steam. Feel the grief with conscious awareness, let it be grief that’s not attached to any person place or thing. Let it pass through unrestricted.

You may well be feeling and releasing emotions that others in the world are currently unable to process and release because they are in shock. In doing so your are doing the World a great service.

If the mind is very “self violent” right now too, thoughts of anger and self hatred that appear to come from nowhere, this again can be the Universal Nervous System releasing violent thoughts through your already dug out old channels. Meet whatever is arising conscious, with as much Love as you can muster and know without doubt that you are enough.

The repression of grief fuels volcanoes, eruptions of hatred, blame and shame that blind us and cut us off from Wisdom, Critical Thinking and Compassion. Remember no one ever died of tears, yet people die every day at the hands of Humans in pain that have repressed their tears.

This mass eruption of grief must be tempered with Compassion and Appreciation for what is still Good in this world. Nature is still blossoming, the sun is still rising and setting, you can Appreciate the Loved ones around you Now, as an offering of respect to those that have lost theirs.

Do not entertain guilt for experiencing pockets of Joy and Love amongst the grieving. When you notice guilt arising, be Grateful you have the opportunity to experience these qualities Now. Take a moment to extend the energy of that Joy and that Love to those in places of conflict, as a Blessing, and in doing so you help to keep Hope alive.

Meditation can help you to find more space and calmness around energy that is moving. Meditation is not meant to be a means of bypassing discomfort yet it does have the potential to stop emotional volcanoes from erupting into violence and to calm both your own and the Universal Nervous System.

I forgot to say last week as I was in a rush, that a very lovely lady sponsored me to go to Neil Douglas-Clotz and Robert Holden retreat! See Meditation Cafe: Synchronicity & Contemplating Humility I cannot even begin to put into words yet what occurred over that weekend other than to say I am immensely Grateful to have been there.

Neil spoke of an Aramaic word, “Shlama”. It refers to the Peace that existed “before the beginning”, so it is not the type of peace that is simply the absence of conflict. When we say or think “Shlama”, we are saying, “I see you, I remember when we were all in the before”. Some Humans have forgotten. It’s time for all to remember.

Shlama to me describes perfectly the state we reach in Meditation. A Peace that is inherent and eternal. When we Meditate we are planting this Peace and creating channels for Divine Will, not just for our own little sense of “i” to be merged with this Peace but for everyones.

Join us tonight for Meditation Cafe 7.30pm on zoom to Meditate on Peace (the Shlama kind) and Love (the Universal, Unconditional, Unending, Unlimited kind) and discuss further how to mitigate the effects of Universal Nervous System trauma. Here’s the registration link:

  1. Thank you so much Rachel! This is so spot on and brought me so much peace reading through this. I have decided to go swimming this evening ( I’m here now) as my body feels as though it needs to move and release something… It was a tough decision because I love my Mondays with you but been a tough day and tough last week or so for me. I do hope to see you soon!! Love and light beautiful 🤎

    1. Glad you found some Peace in the words and hope you enjoyed your swim. Much Love to you too, see you soon 🙏🏼🥰..

P.S. Just to say (publicly because then I might actually remember lol) it has been the intention for a while to record the Pranayama & Meditation part of the Cafe (not our sharings) and put the audios on you tube so if people can’t make the Cafe they can still join in. It’s all set up! I just have to remember to press record 😆💕
