Meditation Cafe Link, What I’ve Been Up To & Whats On

I had so much fun hopping over these stepping stones – Penmaen – Gower Peninsula

It’s Monday again, Autumn is settling in and I’ve been enjoying the flames and warmth of my little log burner after the last 3 weeks in van. It’s been quite an adventure doing Meditation cafe on the move, first at my Mum’s house in Dorset, then Sancreed in Cornwall and in the Brecon Beacons from a lay-by in Wales.

I’m now back at the boat, walking the talk by using my practice to navigate thoughts of not wanting to spend another Winter on this temperamental river, which flooded while I was away and has thankfully receded since my return. It was weird going back as I’ve already started removing my energies from the space, making it more neutral to sell and I am noticing a reluctance to settle back in, yet here I am, that is the reality for now and Lily Pearl is beautiful.

Thank you Angels for nudging me to go off exploring! There’s been huge shifts in my perception since being away, one being that if I really don’t want to be on the boat this winter, that maybe there are ways available I can’t yet see! Kali van is not currently an option though. She is not equipped for winter van life and is in need of some adaptation for such a quest.

Five Elements Kung Fu Temple

One of the reasons I went to Wales was to check out a Kung Fu temple. I’ve always had a thing for Kung Fu, watched too much Bruce Lee as a kid, lol. I practiced Shotokan Karate in my youth, attempted to start it again not long after birth of my 2nd daughter and fractured a collar bone, then a business to support, two young children and a dodgy shoulder later, the desire to master a Martial Art disappeared into the ether.

At age 53 as of writing this, I’m of the mindset that one is never too old to start and fulfil a dream. I had a great time learning how to defend myself against a knife attack and very much enjoyed fighting with sticks. I was pretty good at it too, who’d have known! Part of this is Kung Fu mission is taking responsibility for my own safety and to reconcile patterns of trauma that still trigger in this body in situations where there is even a hint of a repeat of physical violation, for me to feel safe travelling on my own in the van. Well.. technically I’m not on my own as I have Tara kitty, who is pretty vicious when she gets pissed off, but easily subdued with dreamies!

On my travels we got to visit my Mum and her hubby in Dorset and we also met for the day in Tintagel, one of my favourite Magickal and Mystical places! I visited some dear friends along the way, deepened relationships, and explored areas that I might like to hang out for a bit when Lily Pearl sells. Far more enjoyable than feeling “bound” to the boat.

There were plenty of challenges along the way. After I hopped across the stepping stones and stumbled upon a Faery Castle, I got stuck in the mud in the national Trust car park. Lesson of the day, do not park rear wheel drive van on grassy slope on a pissing it down with rain, stormy day. One of my gas burners wasn’t working, but then miraculously did, only then for my gas bottle to run out on a Sunday, with that particular size and connection now apparently defunct! My pipe from sink to grey water container split and I managed to destroy my water filter by forgetting to strap it in, but oh how it was all worth the challenges to get to hang out in some amazing places with some of my favourite people. Follow me on instagram for reels and pics and more details of my adventure.

There’s been progress with Tara kitty too. She is now travelling harnessed into the seat belt instead of in a cat crate and enjoys watching the world go by very fast! I think we can say she has most certainly earned the title of Adventure Cat!

Meditation Cafe

I’m changing the way I do the zoom links so there’s less admin for me! There’ll be one recurring link for each month. You will still need to register with the link each week and those subscribed, it will still appear in your inbox every Monday.

October link for 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th:

Last week we focused on eyes open practice as a way to maintain our practice when life throws us curveballs. This week we’ll go deeper into understanding the healing process that happens during Meditation and how to navigate suppressed emotions and memories that can come to the surface. I notice in many that I work with, that crying, the most natural thing for us to do when stress has accumulated in our nervous system, is still met with shame, self judgement and self violence.

Also we will explore in our Self enquiry those beliefs that “things need to be a certain way” for other things to happen… And maybe sometimes they do but just maybe there’s a way or a path you haven’t seen yet and the rigid thinking is actually masking a fear of change and growth.

Yes I’m talking about excuses and limiting beliefs, like, “I’m too old to learn Kung Fu”, not that I’ve ever had that thought lol, or “I’m stuck in the boat til she sells”. Definitely had that one lots!

Angel Cosmology Update

Yesterday I facilitated my first Angel Cosmology workshop. It was a great success, I’m getting really good feedback and requests for another date so look out for another one in December in Northampton.

Raye I just want to say sooooo much about the magic of yesterday and honestly words are not going to “cut it”, so I just want to say thank you… G.M.

To my amusement, the majority of those that attended already work with Angels in their healing modalities. I was like, “Why are you all even here!” It turned out most of them, whether they were aware of it or not, had been called to experience the Silence and how the Angels can support them to rest in it more and more, after all that’s where the Magick is and that’s where we are in alignment to receive guidance and Wisdom.

What’s On

Please check out Saturday Night @ The OM on 26th October. We only have 10 tickets left! Our theme this month is Dark Goddess in preparation for Samhain, now commonly known as Halloween. Our “Special Guest” is local spoken word poet and rapper Alana Melody, bringing her Lilith trilogy set, there’s myself as compere, weaving in a poem or two, a story and you know how I love a haiku and Lootie Johansen-Bibby bringing her beautiful voice with music and songs. I’m starting to do some Shamanic Healing Work again. If you’re interested in a Soul Session in Market Harborough or here on the boat in Northants in October, please do get in touch. There’s three options to choose from. You can find out more about the Soul Sessions at www.bluestartherapies.com.
