Meditation Cafe: When Sadness Is Present

Emotions are an intrinsic part of being Human and as we hit the darker Winter months SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) can affect many.

I am currently with sadness, yet I AM not sadness. I most certainly don’t see this sadness as a “disorder”. It’s not induced by season for me, as I love the Winter months, crisp mornings, Dragons breath, Jack Frosts art, hot chocolate by warm fires, woolly socks, bobble hats and cosy blankets!

I could pin reasons for this visiting sadness on many things, some I can change, some not.

Maybe it’s because I’ve over extended myself physically.

Maybe I’m having a social hangover and in sensory overwhelm after my trip to France.

Maybe it’s because I’m lacking a nutrient and my system is overloaded from one too many croissants and too much wheat consumption in France!

Maybe it’s because I’m processing some Ancestral healing and grieving timelines that never got a chance to be lived.

Maybe it’s because there’s sadness in the Universal nervous system because of the state of the world.

Maybe it’s because God’s timeline and “my” timeline regarding the sale of Lily Pearl seem to not be in alignment! AND currently I’m quite content in my new little spot on the marina, out of the wind.

The Truth is, all of these things maybe contributing factors to this visiting sadness and yet as I type this, as I meet this sadness with Compassion and meet myself with Compassion (for not having strong enough will power to say no to the croissants and pain-au-chocolat!) a little lightness and loving smile is already twinkling through the cloud.

I always check my nutrition when I feel like this. Sometimes it’s as simple as increasing my protein intake and cutting out the foods that I know cause heaviness. I don’t need to analyse this sadness. I just need to feel it. To welcome it. To put my hand on my Heart and give it a hug with my Presence.

This is why I Meditate. So I know the difference. So I know without a shadow of doubt that I AM Presence and not Sadness. I AM Presence not Happiness. Both are welcome visitors here in their appropriate times. Both will come and go.

Sadness invites Wisdom. Sadness invites us to bring more Love into the world and sometimes that start with loving ourselves and remembering we are Human.

How do you meet your uncomfortable feelings? With Love and Wisdom and Presence or with disdain?

It’s never too late to change your relationship with feelings and thoughts. May your sadness, when it visits, become the fertile ground from which your Consciousness and Presence grows. May you, through the whole range of Human feelings, remember that you are the emanating Love of Creation.

I’ll leave you with this quote:
