Meditation Cafe: Nurturing Relationships

Our primary relationship is with ourself and determines how we show up in all our other relationships. Meditation can help us strengthen that connection with our own authenticity that cultivates a willingness to meet all parts of ourself with Loving Presence. It helps us create strong boundaries, to not settle for anything less than Love.

Meditation is an act of Love, a form of maintenance and Self care. In Meditation you get to clearly hear any self sabotaging voices.

Is your inner voice uplifting and supportive or do you always put yourself down and criticise yourself? Does you inner critic always compare? Does this voice filter out into your friendships? How does it affect your relationships?

Changing your relationship with this voice is the first step in taking responsibility for how you show up in your relationships and is the key to forming healthier ones.

Sometimes as we shift inside and our boundaries become stronger, friendships that are not mutually supportive, fall away. This is not always easy and yet sometimes necessary. We have a choice externally as well as internally.

We do not need to entertain that self denigrating, self sabotaging voice whether it is arising from our own mind or coming out of the mouth of another. We do not need to try and persuade others to understand us. We do need to cultivate an understanding and deeper connection with ourselves.

When we love and accept ourselves, as we are, in all our human messiness, this love is somehow reflected back.

To be witnessed, to be understood by another is a precious gift. It is something we all innately desire and yet the journey to experiencing that always starts within our own Heart, with our own relationship to our Self.

I have just spent a week in the most loving, supportive container, learning what healthy communication and being in a supportive community looks like. I do not have to entertain anything less. I’ll share more about this journey another time in a personal blog.

You might like to read last weeks blog on the Summer Long Dance if you haven’t already, to see what I’ve been up to. I’m still fundraising so please support if you can.

I danced my Heart out in the long dance, while also being part of the Practical Team. When other were resting, we were working to keep the campsite functional! This took me to the edge, couldn’t mask here even if I wanted to! I’m physically exhausted and was taken over the edge of my sensory capacity, yet my Heart is full to overflowing and Spirit alive from all the Love and support I received from our team!

Your support of my dance and service work is much appreciated. Please remember to let me know if you donate so I know when I reach my commitment of raising £400 for Fundación Pachamama. Thank You, Thank you, Thank you 🙏🏼
