Winter Solstice Blessings & An Invitation

The Pause

Be still…

The Solstice pause is here

It happens but just once a year


Earth Mother completes her long exhale

Releasing all that’s old and stale


If you blink you’ll miss the space

A magickal and Sacred place


Where past and future intertwine

Fear and Hope collide in time


Creating a cauldron of intention

That sets your inner compass direction


In this space be really clear

Of your heart’s wishes for the coming year


Be thankful for your lessons learned

Release all fear before the wheel is turned


Forgive the past, set yourself free

Embrace the future full of glee


As Father Sun reveals his face

She breathes in life, she is full of Grace


For in this place of in-between

Visions of the future she has seen


And as his will joins with her Heart

A new pathway unfolds, a new journey starts

As we welcome the rebirth of light, anticipating longer days and shorter nights, may you enjoy the rebirth of this poem with a few refinements from the original.

The Invitation

I invite you to take an internal pause over the next few days and weeks, to breath deeply, take stock of where you are at, to put your hand on your Heart, listen to your heartbeat and to play with these three Self Enquiries:

• My Heart, thank you for reminding me of all the wonderful experiences I’ve had this year… Watch, listen, feel… Pay attention

• My Heart, thank you for showing me where I’m holding onto any grievances from this past year that are blocking my ability to experience Joy, Love, Peace now… Watch, listen, feel… Pay attention

• My Heart, thank you for showing me how I’ve grown in this past year, for revealing to me the Wisdom that I’ve accumulated, that I’m carrying forward into this coming year… Watch, listen, feel… Pay attention

If you’ve got ants in your pants and struggle to sit still, pick 3 tunes that will help you access Gratitude, Release and Empowerment. Contemplate the self enquiries as you dance through each tune. Let your body show you the reflections in the shapes it makes.

It’s good to journal your findings, to remind yourself how far you’ve come when the mind slips into its tendency to focus only on the shit things that happen. These practices help us to see the full spectrum of our experience, to strengthen our response-ability, to keep our inner compass aligned to what is truly important to our Heart and Soul.

If you’re into Angels (you may well have one atop your Christmas tree!), you can call upon the following Archangels to assist with the above self enquiries:

Archangel Raphael supports us with healing the mechanics of “SEEing”, He helps us to perceive things as they really are, not what the mind and ego are projecting.

Archangel Jeremiel supports us to review our past with Love and Clarity. He helps us to specifically see the patterns, projections and loops that we are stuck in, what is needed to recalibrate to our inner Heart compass with healthy mind and body. He reawakens us to our Souls directive, to our own luminous intent, that with which we are here to gift the Earth, simply by being our most loving and authentic selves.

Archangel Zadkiel supports us in the release of fear and that which no longer serves us. Zadkiel is said to be the keeper of the violet flame. You can ask Zadkiel to place yourself and anything you are struggling to release in the violet flame.

Archangel Haniel supports us in illuminating that which is unseen, those deep unconscious patterns in our subconscious that cause havoc in our lives. I experience Haniel as the conduit through which Wisdom is birthed. She helps us meet our challenges with more Presence, to find the golden nuggets of Wisdom in our perceived suffering.

Archangel Jophiel supports us being illuminated! She helps us radiate with Gratitude, to see the little and the big things we can be Grateful for. She is the most beautiful ally for those that struggle to see their own BEaUty and worth and in my experience, really embodies the Truth and Joy of this Solstice, Yule, Christmas season.

Parking Angels

You also might like to call upon another group of Angels, lovingly known as the “Parking Angels”. They are not for self enquiry but for finding parking spaces! They are very helpful during this crazy, busy, frenzied season of consumption. To be reminded of the reality of this you might like to check out my poem Consumer God.

If you’re a non-believer in Angels, I invite you play. The trick is to remember to say “Thank You parking Angels for my parking space (at specific location)” BEFORE you leave and then when you arrive remain calm and present to the inner nudges of direction to which the Parking are pointing you.
