Meditation Cafe: A Call For Love

I don’t listen to the radio very often when travelling, I usually listen to an audio book. I find I absorb information better when my brain is passively alert, like when driving. The news came on reporting a series of stabbings and other fear mongering stories.

What has always concerned me and still does, is the matter of fact way these things are reported. With monotone voice, without any hint of care, without any prayer for families involved. I don’t know about you but I want to live in a world where these things are not a daily occurrence and reported with lot more love and reverence for life, and the lives of those deceased.

Whether we are aware of it or not, this constant drip feeding of fear through the media, whether it’s fear of murder, war or terrorism, creates a subconscious and sometimes very obviously visible fear of other humans. I know first hand that humans can be awful to each other. This isn’t about denying that fact. It is about remembering, whatever is reported on the news, however awful and horrific, that what we are seeing is not the whole picture. It is about training ourselves to actively seek out the beauty in this world that still exists.

Our individual nervous systems are not designed to take on the pain of the whole world and yet our individual nervous systems make up a much bigger, energetic nervous system to which these bodies are all connected and are affected by. Where does one persons pain end and another begin? If you are at all empathic you will know it does not end in the skin. Not knowing how to meet fear and the suppression of our own and others difficult feelings, causes us all a lot of heartache.

Fear can make us irrational and dysfunctional. It can also make us compliant when we shouldn’t be. It cuts us off from our inner voice of Wisdom. It shames us into not allowing ourselves to experience the Joy of this moment, the Joy of simply being alive. Sometimes fear is a gift that can save our lives, a rocket up our arse that propels us out of a dangerous situation. It is almost always a call for more Love.

If the woes of the world are getting you down, maybe it’s time to switch off the tv and radio for a bit, especially if it is starting to affect your own ability to show up coherently in your own life and for your own family. Worrying about things out of your control can make you distant, short tempered and before you know it the war on the TV is playing out small scale in your own home.

You cannot control how another feels or reacts, you can only become aware of your own feelings and response-ability when fear, judgement and blame arise in you or maybe you’re in the receiving end of it. Will you take it upon yourself, for the good of yourself and your loved ones to go on an inner quest, to seek the Sacred fire of your own Consciousness that burns up all obstructions to you meeting it ALL as a Presence of Love?

You are completely at choice who you will be today in your interactions with others. Compassionate, kind, giving and forgiving will create one set of probabilities; angry, judgmental, critical and defensive will create another one altogether

Marianne williamson

What we are cultivating in The Silent Revolution is Compassion. Love guided by Wisdom. The remembrance and ability to be able to cry and grieve the perceived ills and losses in our own realities (and those of the world) like a wailing indigenous Grandmother, if necessary, whilst not losing sight of the beauty that still exists all around us and in our own Hearts.

This world, for sure needs more Love and that Love awakens first, in our very own Heart. A life lived in Love is for the brave among us. It is something we are going to have to actively choose and return to again and again as we meet our own and others shadows, as we are remembering how to hold each other through unpredictable and tumultuous times.

Blessed are those in emotional turmoil,
they shall be united inside by Love
