Meditation Cafe: Speaking Up

What has The Silent Revolution got to do with speaking up? One might think at first glance that the two are opposites. When we Meditate, yes we are silent in the sense that we are not talking externally, but anyone that Meditates knows that often, when we first close our eyes, it is not actually silent. The inner voice chunters on regardless of us choosing not to speak.

Much of this chuntering is irrelevant to our lives and more importantly not helpful to us living our Souls heartfelt dreams. This internal processing attempts to make sense of life and where we fit into it. More often than not and depending on the bias formed in our upbringing, this voice of our identity creates internal interference that drowns out the Wisdom of the Soul, our own internal navigation system that points us in a direction aligned with our innate gifts and talents.

Wisdom may appear not as words in our mind but a felt sense beyond the surface layer of the chuntering mind. The Silence we are becoming aware of in our Meditation practice is not the absence of sound but that which sound is moving within. In fact, a good indication that our Meditation is bearing fruit is that we become naturally more confident to speak up when necessary.
