The Silent Revolution & Benefits of Regular Meditation

I’ve created a new page The Silent Revolution. I realise WordPress doesn’t update subscribers of new pages or updates to pages so this is an invite to subscribers and non-subscribers to check it out here and to make you aware of opportunities to practice regular Meditation with me on zoom.

The main benefits are increased Self awareness and alertness, increased ability to regulate your own experience. Increased awareness of the space beyond your thoughts. Increased connection with Self and others. People often report feeling calmer, less reactive, more Peaceful. This practice can be done eyes closed and eyes open throughout the day.

Sometimes Meditation can bring suppressed emotions up to the surface. This is not a bad thing and some people may then need additional support in the form of a counsellor or therapist. In my experience, over time, Meditation has helped me to welcome and allow my true and often deeply uncomfortable feelings to be released without judgement. It has helped with emotional maturity, which I confess, was lacking for many years! This poet has gone from being a hopeless romantic to being hope”full”!

As well as for random poems and blogs that arise, from now on I’ll be using the WordPress blogroll for news and updates instead of a separate newsletter, and to send out a new link each Monday with the title “Meditation Cafe (Date)”, so WordPress subscribers can get access too. It will also include a Meditation or Yoga tip, trap or benefit, so my blogroll will again be active! This will direct my attention to the place where I need to be writing. My website. Not social Media. Not Mailchimp.

Less is becoming so much more as I’m having to come to a place of acceptance of limitations in my executive functioning and yet still be open to growth within that. Labels don’t need to define us. We can use them as a springboard from which to expand and explore new ways of being.

Thank you for still being here and welcome the newly subscribed. I’m hoping this shift will get me writing more useful content.. Well, writing at all would be a good start! I feel excited by this shift which is always a good sign and I’m always excited to show people how to Meditate.
